Couples Counselling
All of us live in a fast paced world which places upon us many expectations and responsibilities. Finding time and space for ourselves and our partners becomes harder and we are often faced with making compromises to the detriment of ourselves or our partner. Ultimately resentment grows and our relationship begins to crumble under the strain. The common solution is to separate and to begin again with all the associated pain. Another way forward is for the couple, through counselling together, to come to understand themselves and their partner better. An important part of this is for the couple to look in detail at communication between them so that it can be understood and changed in a more positive way.
Couples are helped to listen more effectively to each other without being blocked by old patterns of defending or accusing behaviours.
before they can benefit from counselling
A couple may seek help if one of them is feeling:
taken for granted • different sexual desires
surviving an affair
constant arguments • boredom.
A couple seeking counselling will be individually and jointly motivated to seek a better relationship in order to benefit from counselling.
Each session will last for 90 minutes and cost £60.
